Going through my log files, I came across some more ideas for a paid membership site. These are some of the types of membership sites people were looking for when they found my site:
- life coach membership site
- 100 Dating Free Germany In Love Membership Site
- Membership Site Template
- Affiliate Membership Site
- childrens book of the month club membership site
- hair salon membership sites
- fitness membership sites
- coupon membership sites
Notice how specific some of them are. The dating site is a German dating site. It has been niched quite well - and given its own unique twist. That’s important for marketing!
A few of these would work better as free membership sites - such as the dating site, and the affiliate site. The fitness site, depending on how it was done, could work well with a free and paid component. Obviously, you’d give the paying members the premium content - perhaps online personal training sessions, or question-and-answer sessions. You could also provide them with a lot of tools to help them stay motivated and get the most out of their fitness program.
In the free version, you could provide more general information - that is, not tailored to each person. It should still be good quality information - after all, your free members aren’t going to upgrade if they get poor quality information. It just should be content that doesn’t take too much of your time, and isn’t personalized.
The life coach membership site would work well with the same treatment. Others, like the hair salon membership, the children’s book of the month club, the web template membership, and the coupon membership, should be paid members sites. The coupon site may not charge a high monthly fee, but is likely to compensate by having a lot of members. The children’s book of the month site could charge a higher fee if they ship the book as well as providing a downloadable version. Physical goods have a higher perceived value.
